There are several groups that exist outside this means of communication, but for the purpose of this site it provides an ample range of knowledge of this subject. Ghost/Paranormal groups

This classification is for websites that are from groups that share similar interests as O.P.I.N. These sites are continuosly studying the paranormal world and are, in my opinion, the best of what you will find on the web. Links are posted in no particular order. Remember, this is just a sampling!

  • Munroe Falls Paranormal Society
    Based in Munroe Falls, Ohio. "MFPS takes a scientific approach to all types of claims of the paranormal with the intent of documenting and validating or disproving the claims of activity."
  • Circleville Paranormal Society
    "We are a non-profit paranormal group which investigates the unexplained in the Central Ohio area. Focusing mainly on the supernatural, we also study other paranormal things such as UFO's and other unexplained creatures (cryptozoology)."
  • IRIS Paranormal
    The Illinois Research and Investigation Society of the Paranormal.
  • Ohio Paranormal Research and Investigations
    OHPRI is a non-profit organization dedicated to researching and investigating the paranormal while continuously educating those who need it the most. Group is based in North West Ohio.
  • Ohio Organization of Paranormal Studies
    "Mission: The Ohio Organization of Paranormal Studies is dedicated to the investigation and research of paranormal phenomenon. Not all things that go "bump-in-the-night" are paranormal. We attempt to prove, or disprove, claims in order to help people better understand the reported activity. Additionally, we hope to increase awareness and acceptance of paranormal studies."
  • P.I.C.K. Paranormal Investigators of Central Kentucky
    "The Best Paranormal Investigators of Central Kentucky. There are three main reasons that P.I.C.K. is one of Kentucky's foremost paranormal teams: experience (over six-hundred investigations), effectiveness, and practicality."
  • International Ghost Hunter's Society (I.G.H.S.)
    Great information and also provides links to subject matter pertaining to study of ghosts, the site is very commercial in taste. This is a site to be a little wary with as it is a for profit site, listed here because it has been on the net for a long time. It also seems to be matter-of-fact, yet believe me nothing is certainty in the ghost hunting world. 99% of things you see are opinions.
  • Philadelphia Ghost Hunter's Alliance
    "The first professional organization of paranormal investigators and researchers specific to Philadelphia, serving Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Dedicated to the research, documentation, education and investigation of ghostly phenomena."
  • Haunted North Carolina Paranormal Research and Investigation
    A non-profit group with plenty of experience and knowledge. Located in central North Carolina.
  • Spiritsearchers: Paranormal Investigators
    Experienced, diversified, and open-minded Paranormal Investigators. Group based in New Jersey. This site is also home of the Ghost Hunter's Forum.
  • Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society
    Another great non-profit group with a great outlook on the subject and terminology.
  • South Jersey Ghost Research
    South New Jersey research and investigation team.
  • New York Ghost Chapter
    Research and Investigation team based in New York, founded by Frances Bennett.
  • The Avalon Foundation
    Paranormal Investigation and Research, covering Ohio and nearby states.
  • G.H.O.U.L.I.
    Ghost Haunts of Oklahoma and Urban Legend Investigations.
  • Moonspenders
    Ohio based group formed in 2000 and maintained by author/investigator Ken Summers.
  • Paranormal Investigation Team of Tulsa
    (PITT) Paranormal Investigation team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Dagulf's Ghost
    Dagulf's Ghost is a privately funded international team of Parapsychologists and Paranormal investigators investigating North and East Texas as well as the Winchester UK area.
  • Lone Star Spirits
    Paranormal Investigations based in Houston, Texas.
  • Paranormal Researchers of Ohio Valley
    A non-profit Paranormal research group based in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • MESA Project
    Project formerly known as G.E.I.S.T., now known as MESA (Multifrequency Energy Sensor Array). Group uses their own design of device to help in the discovery of haunting and poltergeist phenomenon.
  • Ghost Hounds
    Ghost Hounds Paranormal Investigators is a not-for-profit group based out of Gwinnett County Georgia, dedicated to the study of ghosts and related paranormal and supernatural phenomena.

  • Baltimore Society for Paranormal Research
    This site was established to research and document paranormal activities of the supernatural and occult in the Baltimore area.
  • World Paranormal Investigations
    A group of two separate paranormal investigation teams, one based in Ohio, the other in the UK.

  • O.P.I.N. is proud to be a part of the International Paranormal Investigators organization, which is a third party organization that allows groups to get together and learn from each other (which is what this field needs more of!!!).
  • Tri County Paranormal Research Society.
    A small group of investigators based out of Joplin, Missouri.
  • The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS)
    This is the most "famous" group in our field and the group that appears on the Sci-Fi television series "Ghost Hunters".
